Vision

·         To add value to present production systems in the achievement of the Department’s vision and mission.

Mission Statement

·         To be a catalyst in the promotion of investments, partnerships and intergovernmental cooperation in the agriculture and environment sectors.

 

WHO ARE WE?

We are the Intergovernmental, Partnerships and Co-operation Branch (IPC), in the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Affairs.

THE PROVISION OF OUR SERVICES IS BASED ON THE 8 PRINCIPLES OF BATHO PELE AND WE UNDERTAKE TO:

  • Consult with and provide where possible, services needed by our clients
  • Provide input on the level and quality of services to be expected by our clients
  • Provide access to all
  • To treat everyone with courtesy, and consideration
  • Provide full and accurate information with respect to the services available from the Branch
  • Give accurate information on how the Branch is managed, the costs involved and the responsible person(s)
  • Remedy mistakes immediately and to give unconditional apologies when such mistakes are determined
  • Give value to the service(s) rendered within the bound of the budget.

 

HOW WILL WE DEAL WITH YOUR QUERIES?

 

WHEN YOU WRITE TO US:

  • We will acknowledge your correspondence within 2 working days of receiving it;
  • We will endeavour to provide a full reply within 10 working days.

Replies requiring in-depth investigation will depend on the availability of or access to the information needed.

 

WHEN YOU PHONE US:

  • We will answer calls promptly;
  • We will always give our name when answering the phone;
  • Should we not be able to deal with your query immediately, we will provide you with the name of a person to whom the query will be passed on. We will endeavour at all times to provide a time frame in which you can expect a reply to your call.
  • You can phone all staff within the Branch between the following hours:

Monday to Friday between 08h00 – 13h00 and 13h30 – 16h30

  • Please inform us immediately. Communication is essential.
  • Should you not be satisfied with our approach, we will endeavour to investigate what went wrong and provide you with a reply as soon as practically possible;

SERVICE DELIVERY OUTCOMES

 

·         To enhance the global competitiveness of agricultural production through targeted research and the creation of new export opportunities for medium and small scale farmers 

·         To ensure the development of new and diverse products that will enhance and strengthen agricultural production and reduce the dependency on imports where viable local potential exists

·         To promote agri-business and empower communities in respect of agricultural development whilst supporting SMME development and job creation

·         Establishing and maintaining partnerships between investors and beneficiaries in order to ensure sustainable agricultural, environmental and economic investments.

·         Maintain effective intergovernmental co-operation within agricultural and environmental sectors
