Admission of Students to the College

A senior certificate or equivalent qualification is the minimum requirement for admission, with an overall standard grade pass. In addition a student must have passed English with at least an E-symbol for higher grade or at least a D-symbol for standard grade.

Complying with the above requirements, does not mean that a person will automatically be accepted as a student at the college on application, since more students apply than can be accommodated.

A mark is also calculated for every applicant, according to subjects passed and marks obtained for the senior certificate. All applicants who score above a certain minimum mark are then invited to write an assessment test.

If an applicant is still at school, conditional selection will be made on the basis of grade 11 (standard 9) results. Once the final matriculation results have been received by the college, admission will be confirmed.

To enter the Diploma, a student must have completed 85% of the requirements of the Higher Certificate. This rule does not apply to students transferring from colleges other than Owen Sitole and Cedara College. Such persons will need to have completed a Higher Certificate.

Tuition and Medium of Instruction

Tuition at the College is through the medium of English.

Fees are payable half-yearly in advance on registration day, or in five(5) equal installments, if proof is provided of a pre-arranged stop order, confirming that the relevant amounts will be subtracted from a bank account and paid into the college account.

Students receive three(3) meals per day, as well as morning tea. Food is prepared by a private catering company in a modern kitchen and is enjoyed in a spacious dining hall.
